About 100 years ago, a part of Noord Brabant was full of shoe factories and tanneries. The region was known for it, and still is today.
It was a flourishing market until it was discovered that production abroad was cheaper.
My grandfather also had a shoe factory and made beautiful and high-quality shoes.
My father grew up in this factory and took his first steps in the leather craft.
My father was taught to work with leather at a young age and this has always remained an important role in his life. He then passed on this passion and craft to his eldest daughter. So that's me, Meike.
I live with my family and two dogs in Oisterwijk. The Dutchiz studio is also located here.
There is nothing more beautiful than making a beautiful collar or accessory from nothing more than a large piece of leather. A product of quality and high durability. And this is all done in my own studio. This makes me so proud.
I invite you to take a look at this website and be amazed by the high quality and timeless designs of Dutchiz products.
With kind regards,
P.s. Would you like to learn more about the history of the shoe factories? Then visit the 'Shoemuseum' in Waalwijk.
